Trust Buddy is a child safety communication platform developed by Trust Buddy LLC. The platform is engineered to facilitate secure, child-initiated communication between children (ages 6–17) and their pre-approved network of trusted adults. Unlike traditional surveillance or monitoring software that scans keystrokes or harvests private device data, Trust Buddy uses a voluntary, child-empowered communication model.

Lowering the Barrier to Communication

Research in pediatric developmental psychology indicates that children frequently experience communication paralysis when attempting to report distress, bullying, or unsafe interactions. Trust Buddy’s Help Me Explain guided wizard utilizes structured emoji prompts and pre-written message scaffolding to reduce emotional friction, enabling children to communicate sensitive issues without needing to articulate complex feelings from scratch.

Child-Initiated Safety Circles

Under COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) compliance guidelines, Trust Buddy ensures that only the child can invite members to their Trust Circle, with primary parent/guardian oversight and approval required for users under age 13.

Non-Surveillance Protocol

Trust Buddy operates on transparent connectivity. Children always receive clear visual indicators when location-sharing or emergency tools are active, preventing hidden monitoring and fostering mutual trust within the family unit.

Zero Third-Party Data Sales

Personal communication data, location logs, and user profiles are never sold, rented, or monetized for advertising purposes.

Closed Network Architecture

Direct messaging functionality is strictly restricted to verified, parent-approved contacts within the child's Trust Circle. Public search, stranger discovery, and open messaging channels are permanently disabled.

Emergency Override

In crisis situations, one-tap Emergency Alerts broadcast immediate notifications and real-time location data simultaneously to all active members of the child's Trust Circle.
